TAYLOR JR VIKES CHEERLEADERS HANDBOOK CONSTITUTION

When a player is down, the cheerleading squad goes down on one knee to support the injured player and to show the fans that a player is down. Once the player is back on his/her feet and removed from the field, cheerleaders are to clap in support of that player. Please note this is for both teams. This is good sportsmanship!

  1. Unless excused by the coach or cheer advisor, cheerleaders will remain in the designated cheer area during the entire game. Parents are not allowed to remove the cheerleaders out of the area.

COMPETITION

A, B, and C squads will compete at the ACC competition. Parents are responsible for  bus fee, payable by September 25, if a bus is rented for competition.

UNIFORMS

Cheerleaders must be in complete uniform for games and competition. This includes proper footwear, which must be clean. If a cheerleader is not in complete uniform, she will not cheer.  If a cheerleader looses her poms, she will need to purchase an additional pair with a surcharge for extra shipping.  Socks are provided by the Taylor Jr. Football Organization. The cheerleader must purchase red “lollipops” for underneath her skirt.

Disciplinary Process

First Offense: Warning

The participant will be warned immediately and asked to cease whatever activity/action she is engaging.

Second Offense: Benched

If the participant has been previously warned by any staff member, the participant will be removed from participation with the squad for the next scheduled game and all practice prior to that game. The participant will, as part of the disciplinary process, attend practices in order to observe all activities. The participant will also attend the game for which she has been benched in full uniform. She will also be required to "work the gate" if the "benched game" is a home game.

Third Offense: One full week suspension

A third offense of any nature will result in a full week of suspension. While on suspension the participant will not be allowed to attend any practices or games. If the child does not comply, she will be suspended for the rest of the season.

Fourth offense: Suspension for remainder of season upon review of Cheer Advisor, Cheer Coaches, and Board of Directors. Any fourth offense of any nature will result in suspension for the remainder of the season. Additionally, the child will be subject to prior approval before re-entry into the Jr. Vikes program for the following season.

       Service Requirement

All cheerleaders will be required to help with game-day operations. This includes, but is not limited to, working the entry gate, walking with an adult to sell 50/50 or instant bingo tickets, or cleaning up the grounds after the game. Your coach will assign you the date of service and the time you will be required to serve. This may be either before or after your scheduled game.
